Hi! I just like to know why was the MotionBuilder 2012 SP1 download link taken off. Is there something wrong with it? I just like to know because I’m about to push it on 100 computers so I need to avoid any possible problems.

Thanks for the help!

Ok then I’m having hallucinations! ;-) I have right now on my hard drive these 2 files and the pdf that came with it.

motionbuilder2012_sp1_32bit.msp
motionbuilder2012_sp1_64bit.msp
motionbuilder_2012sp1_readme_en.pdf

I don’t know what else to say or think!

That’s very odd, I couldn’t find the files also - it looks like AD pulled them from the website.
Doing a quick Google search does indicate that he file existed at some point, I was able to view the cached PDF (thanks Google!) and if the list of fixes are indeed as they described, this fix should be very much useful (if not a savior!).

However my guess is that, since AD pulled it out, it causes other, more serious, bugs..???

GBoucher, have you installed it and does everything works OK?

I can’t really tell you that it did fixe some bugs in MotionBuilder. My job consist of deploying applications on computers. That’s one aspect anyway. I don’t use MotionBuilder or any other applications until there’s a need to fix something. But from what I can see yes it deploy easily and I can’t seem to find anything wrong with it. There’s no error message, no crash, etc.

Interesting read of the cached .pdf!

Seems mostly focused around AMC and ASF though, which we don’t use here.

Hopefully they took it down to get some more fixes in there!!

The loading performance increase sounds AWESOME. big props to whoever on Autodesk whoo found that one out. I mean, MB2012 was already very fast when opening/merging files… So this is like super-nice luxury which I’m very grateful for. (opening, merging, saving speed can never be fast enough)

Autodesk just publish the new MotionBuilder 2012 SP2. So this post is no longer relevant. I just wish that someone told us the why SP1 just disappear?

Have a good MotionBuilder day ;-)

Thanks!
BTW From my testing of SP1 (which was none ;) ) I know of one feature that they said was fixed and it wasn’t - when you saved the file a load it back the time slider didn’t remain where you left it.
