I have a SuperSpray creating a liquid flow from a bottle and deflecting off of two planes, and would like to use this animation in MotionBuilder. Perhaps there is a better solution than using a Particle System from 3DS Max, and if so I'm open to learning new tricks; I just thought importing the SuperSpray I already customized would be ideal. So using recorded data from a different character (bigger/smaller) is not a problem. But now! When i add a character override sub track with just i.e. the hand controllers affected, the character rig will adapt itself to the original dimentions of recorded character data 'braking' the configuration of the rig. The result is that the hands become bigger /smaller. my workaround till now was retargetting the data before importing it in a seperate file, or plotting the animation to skeleton and back making the animation clip permanent and resetting the rig. Now that i have a large project coming up with many different characters, i can't be bothered with retargetting all this (library) data to every character before processing it in story. I'm trying to export some test movements (that I keyframed via control rig) and then clicked on the big blue button on the Character Tools window and “Bake(plot) --> Bake(plot) to skeleton ...” Left all options as default and saved as different file. Now when I play animation, pelvis isn't animating at all, arms animation seems to be ok. Is there anything I'm missing? I assigned my model as biped and ik/fk when creating the rig. I have added the dynamic lighting shader and a light for this shader, but I still can only apply diffuse textures. Am I missing a step? Or is this a graphics card issue or something? I imported motion data from a c3d-file. Then I created an actor and a control rig and linked everything to the motion data. So far everything just worked fine. But, the actor is taller than the control rig, so is there a way to connect them not only by motion but by size? I know that I can scale the control rig and align it to the actors skeleton manually but there are two problems: The scaling is not saved and as soon as I start the animation again, the control rig has its old size. Secondly, scaling each body part manually is very complex (I have several motion files) and not precise enough.
