What exactly is it?  There is a PLE for it and I am going to get it.  What does it actually do?

It’s a character animation package for bipeds and quadrupeds. It handles motion capture data really well, but can also be used as a great freehand animation tool.
You need to have built your character first though. It’s not a modelling or rendering piece of software.
