Hi real time in iq is very simple.

first u need to get the tarsus and install it on Ur vicon workstation.

now go to setup mode in IQ and give the IP address of the local system under real time config sub menu.

then connect the real time .( u can get real time connecting button beside the mx hardware connection button ).

if u want to run real time on separate workstation, just change the IP address and install the tarsus on the system where u want to run RT.

Hello im trying to do real time movement / render in maya using Vicon Blade system. To explain more, i want to be able to see someone’ walking around in real life( real time) and have their data recreated in maya within a rendered character. I’ve installed the ViconGpplugin for maya im just not sure how to link the two any suggestions?

Thanks!

to run Real time in motion builder first u need to get the Vicon GP motion builder plugin .

this u can download from vicon site.

then install the plug in.

now open the motion builder and goto asset browser -> Devices -> u will see the vicon GP device.Just drag and drop into the view port.

Now u will get the RT window .

just give the iP address of the system which u r running the tarsus. Then click on the button “GENERATE THE NEW OPTICAL MODEL”.

and tick on the “online” check box .

Done.

If u want labeled markers in MB, u should switch on the vsk in vicon IQ.

I think u need Vicon Tarsus application and Vicon GP plug in.

If u have vicon support account u can download this from vicon’s downloads page.

If you contact

They can put you in touch with the right people to either sell you the ViconGP plugin or give you pricing.

Yeah I use to get this issue a lot. You can find that dll in your C:\Program Files\Vicon\Blade\ if you have blade installed. Just copy it over to you motion builder plugin folder where you see the viconGP plug in. restart motion builder and you should be good.

Yeah, also depends what version of the importer you have. Some of the early ones didn’t install right at all. The best thing to do is uninstall it, then install it in to a folder on your desktop and make sure that all the file in the desktop folder are removed from the motion builder directory(there was a point when the new files would not over write the old ones and the uninstaller would not remove them). After you do that then put the files where they belong. Make sure MB is not running when you do all this. I don’t have MB7.5 installed right now so I can’t give you the exact directories, but I’ll try to post them when I get the chance. Also I would recommend updating to ext 2b, 2a had some serious issues with how the data looked and what you got when you exported to another package. I hope this made sense.

tried that too, and it still gives me that same error. I installed the ViconGPMotionbuilder_Realtime_6_0_187_40280 for mb 7.5 ext2 on the desktop. copied the files to the corresponding folder in a fresh install of mb 7.5 ext 2.

Made the plug in work without errors in MB 7.5, but the vsk is not moving when I turn on the real time bones.

Unfortunately I can not help you with realtime issues, as I don’t have enough experience with it. If you contact support they should be able to walk you through that part.
