Hello there Mudboxers! And yes yet another displacement problem I am afraid. I havent found another post that touches this problem.
I am a random newb starting out with this marvelous little program, however, I’ve stumbled upon a problem when trying to bake my model to a displacement map. I have been following the fine video tuorial by Ashraf Aiad over at pixelcg.com, which touches the subject of maya - mudbox workflow. I am following his examples, everything goes along smoothly, but then I stumble upon some problems when I come to the baking stage of the tut.
First of all, in the bake menu, the videotutorial seems to have some options I dont have in my window, thus I get a little confused about what to do. Secondly, when I start the operation, it doesnt just calculate for a little while, with the result as ONE line in the Map extraction results (as happens in the tutorial). Instead I get up to extreme numbers - line after line after line, until I stop it - and it starts right at total at 53% done, and the tile is 7% done; and its stuck there. The lines in the Map extraction result window show no displacement map saved anywhere, everything has the same tile ID,the same position, and under time it says skipped. Attached is a picture of what I am talking about.
Also does anyone know of agood site that refers to the settings how they work? Another tutorial for displacement baking? I am most perplexed by most of these parameters. And does my windows affect highest bitrate I can use?
I cant seem to find an answer to this problem with google, thus I have to kindly ask you for your assistance. Please help me out. :(
