Hello, I’m sorry for the newbie question, but when I’m using the zoom or rotate controls for the camera, the camera rotates or zooms from the model’s pivot point, which is of course very cumbersome.

Again I know it’s very basic, but I can’t get the camera to simply zoom or rotate around my cursor’s focus point. I’m using a Wacom tablet, but the problem is the same with my mouse… Could someone please help me with that? Thanks…

Hover your cursor over the area that you want to rotate around and hit “f”.

Oh my. Thank you.

I was afraid of something like that; so there’s no way of simply navigating to the extremities of a big “T"-like structure without pressing “F” a few times on the way to anchor the camera somehow…

Sculptris for example (at least the first version) has a very smart way of interpreting the camera movements around the mouse cursor. Makes for quick and intuitive navigation.

I hope Autodesk realizes the advantages of that at some point…
