I’m running into a display problem in Mudbox 2010. The problem is the entire display does not refresh, only a small area of the screen. I am able to recreate the problem by choosing the paint brush, opening the color swatch, closing it (you don’t have to pick a color) and then rotating the viewport. The part of the screen that refreshes directly corresponds to the location and size of the color swatch window. If you move the window to the upper left, then only a small box in the upper left will refresh. Eventually the entire display catches up if you want to wait, but minimizing and maximizing Mudbox also fixes it. I am using the Nvidia Quadro FX 1800 with the latest driver (191.00 as of this writing) and I have it set to Mudbox compatibility. Any suggestions?

I had the same problem for the longest time and just found the solution - as you may have as well by now.
In my case, I went to control panel - performance information and tools - advanced tools - Adjust the appearance and performance of Windows, selected the Visual Effects tab, then reset all my prior customizations by choosing ‘Let Windows choose what’s best for my computer’. My refresh issues have disappeared.
I expect that I could isolate the problem settings while reducing the rather distracting visual candy. Maybe later…
My specs:
Vista 64
Nvidia quadro FX 5800, Driver version 196.21
