ok here is what I am getting with the normal map creation

I do not see what I am doing wrong…
I am using the level 0 lowpoly object with subdivision set to none (tried good)
highpoly is level 4 (the highest) subdivision on good
and I tried various different search distance settings and every single one of the maps are turning out like this…
Can anyone tell me what is wrong?

In 3ds max if I am going to meshsmooth do I need to unwrap it after meshsmoothing? and if not do I need to attatch all the uv’s to make one giant one?

maybe you have some overlapping of the UV seams.
