Hi there,

I am very happy with Mudbox, except that I can’t use it on Windows.
For some reason Mudbox is freezing Windows.

I made a few different tests - just importing a low res geometry, and I don’t subdivide at all.
So I start to paint, create a few layers - 1024 res, so nothing special.

When painting, suddenly the screen goes black.... Windows is getting in some kind of frozen modus.
After a few minutes, windows crashed and starts again.

First I thought I don’t have the latest Service Packs, or graphics card drivers.
Even after updating, this problem appears constantly.

I can’t use Mudbox because of this issue.

Does anybody experience the same issue ? What to do ?

Thank you very much for any help !

I tested it on Windows Vista 64 Bit and Windows 7 64 bit, happens on two different computers - same issue.

it might be because your graphics card can’t handle mudbox

Mudbox relies on two things RAM & GPU.  Make sure you have plenty or enough virtual ram to cover. Difference is zBrush relies more on CPU then GPU.

I have plenty of RAM and enough space on my harddisk.

I had the same issues testing on 3d different computers.

Where is the offical autodesk support email address ?

I can only find this forum when going to the autodesk support site.

thx a lot

Check the minimkum system requirements for graphic card. Mudbox needs a powerful gpu
