Am I missing something with multi UV tiles and baking?

true or false

You must set displacement for the low-rez mesh to none under the baking settings for multi UV tiles.

true or false

Setting displacement to none creates an unusable texture with visible low rez polygon artifacts; thus making an unusable texture.

I was posting about this a week ago and I felt like my question was lost amidst older posts about this issue.  I was getting crazy 40gig log files when I tried to bake a 3 tile object at 1024.  It rendered at 512 in about 6 minutes and I was wary of trying to find a sweet spot because 1024 would have still been too small.

Quick fix, if anyone knows how, would be to select the UV tile to render, so that I could render one tile area at a time?

I know this definitely used to be a bug and I am wondering if it is still an issue.

Thanks

I assume you mean subdivision when you say “displacement”. I always select good for both meshes as recommended and that works.

You can set the UV range to be used when baking I believe. I think I tried this a few time but couldn’t get it to work.
