Hi everyone.
we are trying to extract normal maps here at the studio for some attraction at a museum.
we have about one month to go.
bu the extraction of the normal maps is not working!!
this is an example of what we are getting from mudbox 2009.
ive tried many different settings and no success.

take a look at the image below.
all the uvs are not broken in those areas by the way.

please help....anyone?

Looks very like flipped faces in the UV map to me being the cause of the issue.

Thanks Wayne. I had no idea this could even be possible.
I will try to fix it in max in the uv unwrap editor.

i cant find any option to flip the faces in 3ds max.
would you know of any wayne?
would you know how to fix it?

also Im using mudbox2010 now.
the normal map view filter is cool but.
i dont think it shows what you are really gonna get right?
or else i would see these artifacts in there as well.

i dont see this artifact with the normal map view filter
