I’m having an issue when I just take a default plane and subdivide it past level 8.  I get “Not enough memory” errors… which is ridiculous because I have 16 Gigs.  In fact, I have opened 4 instances of mudbox and sent them all to level 8 and it only pegs my ram for around 4 gigs....

However, my co-worker has 6 gigs of ram and she can go to lvl 10?????  It seems that Mudbox can’t recognize high amounts of memory?

Anyone else having or have had this problem?

Thanks,
Krush

Not at all an expert in this area but I thought I’d make sure that your OS is 64bit.  I’ve seen so many hardware companies provide high amounts of ram on their computers and then install a 32 bit os that I always feel its best to check. 32 bit OS means 3gig of ram is all you see.
