I’ve been asked by my professor to learn how to use mudbox this summer while were working on a project. This is more of a side thing for me since the actual project is taking longer than we expected. So this is my first time posting in the Area forums!
Anyways, I’ve been playing around with the sample models given by mudbox. I did the lizard first, and was able to paint my own skin textures on using the stencil. But for some reason as I work on the full human figure, none of my stencils are coming in color, even the original ones that came with the program. Maybe I accidentally hit a button, but I can’t find anything under preferences. They still show color in the selection area at the bottom right, but when it’s projected over the model they show up in black and white.
Anyone know how to change that?

are you painting textures..?
for color projection you have to use the project mode not the paint brush....

I have it on projection, this is what I’m getting, see how the standard brick pattern that came with mudbox is black and white. I opened a new file up with the stock lizard to see if anything would change, but still the same thing.

I’ve done the projection before with no problems

That’s why I’m not sure if I accidentally pressed something that changed it to do that.
