Hi there, i’m having a problem extracting vector displacement maps in Mudbox 2011. Im using the trial version just now, and each time I generate the map it comes out like the attached image.
The lowpoly and hires mesh are both objs from zbrush, and uved in maya.

Any help would be appreciated, thanks

I get a similar problem when trying to bake a vector displacement map from xNormal using my hi and lo poly models which were also sculpted in ZBrush.  I think ZBrush does something wierd to the UVs when you export.  Try sculpting something solely in MudBox and see if you still get the faceted look.  Let me know if you make any progress!  Cheers.
