Hi guys,

I’m learning Mudbox and I came across this thing, I think it’s a glitch.

I was making a head and went ahead and added a sphere to serve as an eyeball. I scaled it, put it in place and started working around it, adding definition to eyelids etc.

After finishing the eyelids, I went on to the cheeks, but the brush was behaving weird, like randomly losing “signal” or something. If I painted a straight line, there would be places where the force wouldn’t be applied like in the rest of the stroke, creating jagged strokes.

After a lot of googling (which turned up nothing) and tweaking I found out it was due to the eyeball object. When I deleted it everything went back to normal.

Then I added another sphere, positioned it and went along, checking for the weird behavior. It worked normally for some time, but then the brush weirdness appeared again. I made too many changes to the mesh to keep track, so I don’t know what I’ve done. I’ve reverted it to the point when it was still fine now.

So far it goes along nicely, but what should I do if it reappears? Is it a common issue with multiple objects?

Also, another weird thing is that when using wireframe view, sometimes there’s visual ghosting/blurring after moving the polygons with the grab tool. Is this a known bug?

This is my first post. Thanks for reading and happy sculpting! :)

scaling objects in mudbox isnt a good idea… cause mud has no freeze transform feature…
so import a new eyeball from max or maya…

also make sure to lock the eyeball in the object list…
otherwise mudbox will try to sculpt on the eyeball…

make sure your clipping plane in the camera is set correct for detail work…

have you installed the latest mudbox service pack..?

Sorry for not answering for so long, I was busy with other things. I have the latest SP and thanks for the tip!
