Hi
I have been able to run Mudbox 1.0.
I downloaded the trial of Mudbox 2009 and it installed and launches but when I pick anything to start using the program, it gives an error that says

An unknown error has occured while performing the operation.
Sorry for the inconvenience.

Not sure how to proceded or what I need to do.

The two applications render in a different way. Best thing to do is check the hardware specs page. What kind of system do you have?

Ditto - same problem, here - Max works fine, old mudbox works fine, all my other graphic and paint programs work fine - But Mudbox 2009 does exactly what previous posters said.  Error message appears, the model is still there, it just cannot be seen (3d view goes either black and/or grey)

I have newest hardware and it doesn’t work. I have down loaded new drivers from Dell for the 770M and it got worse. I can see the object, I get the unknown error and then it politly says sorry. Now my laptop isn’t the only machine I will want this to run on and I have yet to try it on my desk top.

Paul can you post your hardware specs for the laptop in question please, as it helps to se if any particualr hardware or driver is a common factor.

Dell Percision M4400, four gigs of Ram, win XP service pack 2, Quadro FX 770M driver version 6.14.11.7626.

With this configuration Mud Box is 100% unusable.

Dell Precision M6400 Covet, Intel Core 2 Quad Extreme Edition QX9300 2.53GHz, 1067MHZ, 12M L2 Cache, Nvidia Quadro FX 3700M, 4GB RAM, Windows Vista Ultimate 64bit = Mudbox 2009 DOA

Start it up, place say a Reptile on the plane, hold ALT to try to rotate the screen view - BOOM, gone. Like I never started Mudbox.

This is just dumb. I can’t see there being a problem w/ Ultimate if Business is certified. Bizarre

It seems I’m having the same problem that everybody else is having; it loads up fine but as soon as I try and rotate or sculpt anything an error message comes up. Will there be any service packs coming out soon for this right now it seems I just wasted my money buying this.

Dell XPS M1530
Intel Core 2 Duo 2.6
4 Gig Ram
Windows Vista Home Premium 32-bit Service pack 1
nVidia Geforce 8600m 7.15.11.7644, A03

If anyone has any suggestions for a different driver I can download that will allow me to use the program I would greatly appreciate it.

I’ve tried 3 different Nvidia drivers, changes nothing. Mudbox ‘09 remains the only app that gives me any issues.
