Hi there, I am working now on a guy, it begun as an excersice for anatomy, but I liked the way it came around, I’d love you to give me some feedback.

the model is looking good. but your proportions are a bit off and the forms are way to bubbly.
try using the flatten brush on the round areas. make some areas more planarized

No, the model doesn’t look good at all and if you say this to him, he might think that it is ok to modify it a bit as you suggested, when in fact this model is so bad that it needs an overhaul from the lower subdiv levels.
It looks unnatural and uninspired. There are so many resources for human anatomy and many forums where you can see how a good model should look like.
Post some untextured pictures with it first if you want people to give you some feedback on your sculpting. After you’ve reached an acceptable quality with the modeling you can go on the next step that is texturing.

i agree, although its not good to sugar coat your critique, its also not the best to put someone down, i respect your honesty however i think we can be a bit more encouraging as it seems he is a developing artist.

with that said, the character does need some work on the anatomy front, its not bad its just not correct. work on getting your proportions down, and definitely use references if you haven’t already done so, you will start to see those mistakes.

It’s a very useful thing to make a whole figure at first. Enjoy your ‘I’m quite proud of myself’ feelings, but also accept there is a lot of work ahead and be prepared to put that model aside for a while. I think it’s advisable to concentrate on modeling only parts of the body at a time until you’ve uderstood the forms properly. It’s too much to take in to study the whole body. You’ll find plenty of books that show body parts in many positions. I guess there’s a reason for this.

Once you’ve learned the body parts, then do full body sculpts in different poses. You’ll find there is still lots to study, practice and refine!

Don’t forget to study the skeleton. Even this model you’re showing would look better if you understood the bone structure.
