i like the face structure… cool stuff....
are you using mud 1 cause of the flat shaded bug..?
may i see your light/shader setup of the last pic..?

Flat shaded bug and the way shading gets “skewed” betweem subd levels and fkat/smooth modes. Also min preassure is/was broken.
Pic is screen cap from 2009 trial, single light from above and image light with chapel.exr. Shader is gray with some spec (specular2).

are you going to be going for all the details he put in to the original? Or are you just using it as inspiration and going to make it your own spin? I like the progress youve made on it. I also like that top right render of him in your 2nd to latest post. Is that a mudbox screengrab?

Firts I need to figure out how to sculpt hair, then I might go all the way. If I remember correctly its Vray render wit old sss shader.

Cuold enyone point out some hair sculpting tutorials, my method is just too time consuming.

Honestly, I dont think you need a tutorial on that....Its bound to get quicker as you develop your own method and keep honing your technique and finding which brush might work the best for a particular situation.
Sometimes using freeze and drawing in the initial forms can speed things up.

And of course just study the greats who managed to make hair look better than real life.
Kinda can look art nouveau-esque to me if done well…
