Hi All, as the topic suggests Presently im getting a bad UVW Unwrap malfunction during SubD to highest level after uv import in mudbox that makes artifacts. This is only for my shirt on my character.

I tried this so far
- low subd export of original mesh into 3ds from Mudbox - rebuilt uvw unwrap and export back into mudbox - opened low subd rebuild with correct map and import of high rez shirt as layer and then recreate subdivision sufaces - END RESULT - artifacts created during move to higer subd on result mesh

- tried transfer of details between beautiful hi rez shirt and low rez uvw unwrap rebuild and topology - END RESULT - artifacts created during move to higher subd

- baking attempts using vector displacement and displacement maps give improper quad and to many tforms on base topo.  Except Im not sure if these tforms were the result of my sculpting in mud. Guessing now.  When i brought the low subd export into max for uvw repair i noticed a lot of tforms around the seams of my previous pelt map.

I really dont want to sculpt the shirt over again it looks hot.

What should i Do? Redo the pelt mapping for the shirt? Redo the geometry and sculpt over? My high rez shirt is a decent scuplt id hate to lose it. I thought mud could transfer details to disimilar topology (not that disimilar mind you).

Ugh.  Thanks in advance for any directions and ideas.

Perhaps some images might help us figure out whats going on.

I’m not sure i quite understand what the problem is. Are you saying you’re getting a UV error message while extracting maps in mudbox?

Yes.  My objective is to transfer the details of the mudbox sculpt by importing a new uvw rebuilt in 3ds.  Thanks for replying im going to take some screen shots.
