I apologize in advance if this is a common question (if it is, perhaps someone can direct me to a thread where it has been discussed) ...

I have a few human character models that utilize multiple UV maps. For example, one of these character models uses five textures, two of them probably at 4096x4096, and the other three will probably be less (1024 or 2048 each).

I am a little bit unsure of how to prep these models before importing into Mudbox so that the textures don’t overlap when painting. It *looks* like the five map areas have to be laid out in “tiles” outside of the normal UV range ... but then I’m a bit unsure of how to assign each of these tiles to an appropriately sized texture map.

Can someone point me toward a tutorial or instructions that might help with this?

Thanks!
