now ill admit im totally new to mudbox, just got it and started it. when i go to load a pre-made mesh, any of them, it doesnt matter which. it shows up as solid black. im running this on windows 7 and its the 2010 version. but ide like to try it and mess around with it but with black meshes it makes it kinda hard to do anything!

if oglu is right, then press space, add new material and Cgfx Based Material. It’s the only Material I can see. The other ones are black, no matter which Material I choose.

I was looking for a thread like this, but beig realistic.

My laptop is a Toshiba Satellite a215 s3474
Ubuntu 11.04 AMD 64 Turionx2
Ati Radeon x1200

So, there is like a year and a half that ATI gave up in support for old models of graphic drivers including mine.
No matter which material I try to load it’s always black flat. The only one is the Cgfx Based Material I can see . . . seems that open drivers that the community try to solve to not let die old computers as the one I’m using.

Look. It’s the Only Material I can Load:

Old drivers, are something that none wants to help.

Apply a different Shader.  Olgu you still haven’t replied in regards to my thread why I should render out an AO map and what that has anything to do with spikes ?
