Hi
When I want to open My model in mudbox 2010 ( either .obj or .fxb ) It takes too much time calculating tc bounds and when the importing is done I get a very highpoly model in my viewport.
The original model is a low poly character ( 5000 triangle )and I have no idea why it does so!
Does Anyone know why is that? I upgraded my windows from xp to 7. could it be the reason?
Please if you know the answer, help me.

maybe some bad uv or geometry..?

Hi, thanks for response :)
No It’s not uv. My model is not mapped yet.
I’ve tested 2 models which I’ve made recently and It failed opening them!
it’s an image here showing my model. I dont think it contains unusual modeling. what do you think?

try to export/import an cube as a test…
mudbox works best with really clean quad only geometry…
your model look fine but maybe there are some hidden problems…
not weldet vertices, nonmanifold geo,..

Oglu thanks. I found the solution. the problem was UVs as u said before. :)
When there are overlapped UVs you’ll face problems importing and working with your model in mudbox.
So I changed the UV’s positions and I got everything fixed.
