I thought this too, and I am scared of my own thought :D

...aaaahhh, I didn’t want to use the extreme measures, but may be I should :)

And anyway there is no explanation to the fact that Mudbox 2011 runs flawlessly, and it requires the same exact features as 2012 does.

I just installed Mudbox 2012 on my Sun Workstation with Dual 2.4 Opterons/8 GB RAM running Fedora Linux 14 and I am getting the exact same error… and I know these CPUs are SSE3 capable…

This is a pretty stout system, and Maya 2012 runs just fine.

Any Autodesk Mudbox techs or engineers out there have any advice?

Thanks,

jdb

To me there is nothing strange.

Autodesk.com precises that their products must run on SS3 minimum or higher.
The real question is what kind of laptop is it run on and the laptop spec would be a +

I have been contacted by Autodesk and they sorted this out by doing the first service pack for MudBox.
There were an issue in the SS3 check durinf the start-up process.

My laptop were absolutely SS3 compliant of course.
