Here’s a tutorial on how to import a mesh from 3dsmax to mudbox 2009 and then back again to 3dsmax, and how to use the displacement map using a number of methods and renderers.

When using an 8bit or 16bit image, Under Special Purpose Maps, set your Displacement Value to whatever the difference between your two range values were.

What if I am given values -8,5 and 8,5? I cant enter 17 in Displacement Value, 10 is max.
