hi
thanks this is really good......
how to get rocky surface in maya software render with displacement ????????

This mel was deigned to use mental ray as an engine,
You can still sue it for Maya software, however couple of things you need to keep in mind
for example >
Maya software doesn’t recognize 32 bit files.
It cannot render normal maps
Other than that you are good to go.

I love this tool and it saved me so much trouble. I am having one little problem. I tried to take this one step further.
I applied a subdivision approximation to my model.
Approx Method = Spatial
Min Subdivisions = 4
Max Subdivisions = 5
Length = 0.0 (this screws up my color map if I set it to anything else but 0.0)
I am using Maya 2009.

Unfortunately I am working on NDA material. I can email you screen shots but can’t publicly post them.

I don’t see any reason for why the color channel won’t work , unless ALL of them won’t !
And in this case that might be due to the CCmesh Bug (read few posts earlier)
Anyway my email is in the MEL. I can look it up once I go home tonight
