Here’s the thing....

I’m starting with the ‘Human Body’ mesh in Mudbox 2010. But, for my setup I need it in a ‘T’ Pose

Q: How can select just the arms and rotate then about the shoulder area?

You can’t in Mudbox at this time. You’ll need to take the model into a 3D app and do it there.

In fact you can’t transform multiple objects either.

It would be very convenient if you could do this stuff directly in Mudbox.

That’s cool I can export out to Lightwave Modeller and make the changes there.
