I am getting my best results by adjusting the contrast on my maps.  I am a bit concerned because I imagine that has to muck up my middle grey value.  I have been learning to just keep reducing the search distance and ignore the hot and cold spots off of the mesh but this has the disadvantage of not telling me the exact displacement values.

Do I need to keep tweaking my UVs or am I just going to have to live with map touch up and holes on the ends of my UV sections.

I am really kind of curious how much, if any, post is done on the assorted models we see around here.  Thanks : )
