I really don’t aspect this idea to be very feasible at our current state of technology but I think it doesn’t hurt to throw it out there.  In model shops it isn’t uncommon for multiple artist to work on one sculpture at the same time.  Usually when a large model requires uber detail, and multiple artist can cut the time down that it requires to work on something.  Well imagine you could work like this in a package like mudbox.  A great benefit of this would be that of course, users don’t get in each others way.  You could even have small windows witch would allow artists too see the other artists as they work.  It could have some great mentoring possibilities as well as facilitating direction from a lead experienced artist.
