[EDIT:  THIS IS DISCUSSING COMBINED BRUSHES, AND WAS IN ITS OWN THREAD]

One brilliant feature in the opposition package is the ability to PINCH whilst using the STANDARD BRUSH to carve.

When combined with a sharp tip falloff, you get perfect skin wrinkles and dinosaur skinfolds, and its great for carving in armour, etc.

Since a lot of people are also asking for color + sculpt - how about making ‘combined’ brush operations in the next one?

[EDIT:  THIS IS TALKING ABOUT CAVITY BRUSHES AND WAS IN ITS OWN THREAD]

I am sure you know this, but you really need a cavity paint.  Rendering out an AO stencil as suggested doesnt work because of perspective.

[EDIT:  THIS IS TALKING ABOUT HIDING SELECTION SETS ACTUALLY HIDING THE POLYGONS AND WAS IN ITS OWN THREAD]

Seems logical, but doesnt work this way.
Really would like to have a way to hide stuff very quickly.

[EDIT:  THIS IS TALKING ABOUT FACE SELECTION BEING BETTER AS A SOLID POLYGON DISPLAY]

The vertex color for face selection feels really soft and fuzzy - it would be really nice to have a solid, edged polygon highlight instead.

[THIS IS DISCUSSING THE NEW TEXTURING FEATURES AND WAS IT ITS OWN THREAD SO EVERYONE COULD TALK ABOUT IT]

Nice addition.  Some issues, sure you know them, but feels kinda missing.

No mirroring of texture layers.
Apparently no abillity to collapse layers together.  ?
No blend modes between layers- at the very least multiply, add, screen - big help would be overlay, hard light and softlight.
No ability to export a group of layers as one texture (ala bodypaint)
(You could, I suppose, import each layer tiff into a smart layer in photoshop.  Could be a nice script to add.)

Apparently no flood fill color

Feels like you should be able to paint in UV window.  Really sad that you cant.

No PSD support.  Biiiiiiiiiiiiiig shame.  Bodypaint does it fairly well (except it doesnt support layer effects)

I am not entirely sure what the intended workflow of this app is - lets say I am working on a creature for a film.  I am using six or so diffuse layers to work veins, dirt etc.  All good so far.  Now I want to output it.  Now it gets weird.  Am I supposed to do everything on one layer, or mess around in photoshop a lot- how do you envision me going back and forth between photoshop and mudbox, and my rendering app?  Not really seeing where your going with this ‘every layer is an acetate sheet’ with one blend mode that must be exported seperately.

Sure, I can use this to fix seams up, er...wait, add no clone tools to my list… and I can definately use it to create markout ‘lipsticks’ for use in photoshop - but as a sophisticated production tool, kinda dont see where your head is at here.

Ultimately, I have my photoshop / maya / renderman or perhaps max / mental ray - not really needing a heap of transparent textures here- kinda just want my output as a layered PSD or perhaps a collapsed TIF.

I am just curious what you think the workflow for pipeline is here :)

drop into flat mode,
press alt and P to take a screenshot (sotrd in mud flder under my documents)

Use this as a stencil to photoshproject over teh seams.

The benefits of his method is that you have much more control over matching the seams and can use stamps etc along with the stencil if need be.

Use one of the orthographic cameras...and yes it works fine in perspective mode and plaease make one thread for your queries and not multiple ones that wya its easier and faster to sort out your problems in one go.

Merging the layers in photoshop is easy as shift dragging the layer’s onto your base layer and see it the opacity to be the same as in mudbox.

Whoah, you just swiss cheezed my posts together for totally seperate discussions.  What if other artists want to discuss ideas for each- important ones would bump up.  I appreciate the help darth, but merging them into one thread kinda defeats the purpose of the forum format.
