Will be great if mudbox can have this just like maya set project option. Really simple things, but very useful in production.
just an idea ;)

Also a handy feature would be breaking a project up into logical folders. First though Maya should create a folder in your Project Directory (if ticked on project creation) called Mudbox. Then when any OBJ’s are exported from Maya, they go in, by default to: this project/mudbox/input meshes. When meshes are exported out from Mudbox they go in: this project/mudbox/output meshes. Native Mudbox scenes get saved in project/mudbox/mudboxscene. Other folders could exist in this Mudbox folder for displacement, diffuse, specular etc. Managing the many files produced while sculpting, painting, and moving OBJ’s in and out can get frustrating and really slow down progress. Just having the software by default looking in the correct places for the appropriate file can save heaps of time in a file chooser/import/open screen. Users could then add folders as they need to eg the user might create 4 folders inside displacement folder, for different body parts or different versions.
FILE MANAGEMENT is very important in software like this!

just use the bookmarks in the imagebrowser.....all textures are saved in the same directory as the .mud file.

I was recently watching a tutorial and the author mentioned ’project directory‘. Can you really set Mudbox a directory which you can place all your fall offs, brushes and stencils etc that are separate from the defaults in Mudbox ? It would be beneficial to keep things separate for your own personal workflow so things don’t get mangled together and in the event of a reinstall or upgrade you can just load your ‘project directory’ and all your own personal falls offs, stencils are right there.
