I’m at a loss. SBPro 2009 has worked flawlessly on my machine with my wacom intuous 3 (and still does).
I just installed a cintiq 21UX with the latest drivers from wacom. It still works from my intous3.
It reads clicks from my cintiq but no drawing, and no click and hold menus.
Photoshop CS3 and CS4, Painter and zbrush all work flawlessly on the new cintiq BTW.
Does anyone know how to solve this?
THANKS!!

wow, 2 years ago and nothing! just bot SketchBook Pro 2011 and my old cintiq 15 is acting in the same manner as this post.  i can change brushes and select menu bar items, but no drawing or hold menus.  someone from Autodesk listening? guess i’ll try hooking up a tablet, but hardly worth trashing the cintiq for sketchbook… sheesh

Hi…
Did you ever get SBP working?

Just curious, have you tried SBP 2010 and get the same results?

Hey Chris,
I did. I needed to completely uninstall my wacom drivers before installing new ones. It works great now with both 2009 and 2010.
Thanks!

Hi,

I just don’t want to open a new thread because the title match. I have also a Wacom Cintiq like the guy above but the “Cintiq 12WX” model. My problem is the hyped sensitivity in the new release of Sketchbook 2010 4.0. When i set down my Wacom Pen in short strokes on the canves, i get often very dark short strokes. I can reproduce this bug when i remove the pen from the tablet/screen and set it down again rapidly but soft without big pressure. This must be rapid short strokes otherwise you will not see this effect. You may ask, who do this? When you have to draw a bristly beard for examples you do this automatically. To this day i was working with Sketchbook 2009 R1 v3.1 without any problems. Wanted to test the new release and see the new features. I tested three different Wacom Drivers and closed as well all unnecessary applications to exclude a lag problem.

The exact Sketchbook Version, that have this bug is:  2009 02 23 17 34 (Build 297361)

I attached a screenshot to demonstrate what i mean. All strokes are not even long but they were done with the same pressure. NEED HELP!

My System:

AthlonXP 3200+
2Gb RAM
ATI Radeon HD3850 AGP
Wacom Cintiq 12WX - New Driver Version 6.1.1-3
WinXP SP3

Yep, I get those short straight lines as well.  It seems to happen when sketching very quickly.  Any help would be great as this is totally annoying !

I get these as well on my Intuos 4, and was also getting them on a Intuos 1.
Perhaps not as bad as indicated by that pic, but often enough that it’d be great to get a fix!

I’m on Mac OS X 10.5.7 with a Cintiq 21UX and haven’t experienced this issue.

I have total control over my brush pressure. What exactly is it that causes this?

I also have not seen this issue. I have a 21” Cintiq running on a Mac and a Tablet PC. Sounds too me like your graphics card can’t keep up with your drawing. I’ve seen this happen on my Tablet PC when trying to use Photoshop from time to time.

I’m on a Mac OS 10.5.7 up to date Wacom drivers.
My graphics card is a NVIDIA GeForce 6800 Ultra with 256 MB VRAM.

I don’t have the problem in Photoshop, but I ALSo don’t do much sketching in that program.

Hello everyone, I’m reviewing some old neglected threads and I came across this one.  I have seen these type of strokes before.  Can I ask anyone who cares to reply to let me know if your stylus is well used or not.

I have seen this happen when styluses get old or roughly used.  What is happening is the nib is impacting the sensitivity membrane inside the stylus.  This can cause sudden loss of pressure and other wacky stroke effects.  The solution is to replace the nib (if it’s too worn), or, pull the nib out slightly to reduce the pressure on the internal membrane.

I’m not suggesting that this is the problem, but something to try out, especially if it is also occurring, but not necessarily in other applications.

In my case, no. My Cintiq is ( was ) pretty new when I purchased Sketchbook and the problem started right away.  I too think its a graphics card issue- although I never had any issue in Photoshop.
On a different note ( maybe meant for a different thread ) Sketchbook has not lived up to what I hoped. Maybey it’s my machine, maybe not. Again, I don’t have any of the following issues in Photoshop. here is a short list of things that need attention;
Undos - very slow to complete
selections - again, slow. as in selecting something to rotate, scale or move.
select, copy, paste - slow !  should be able to make a selection, and option click/drag to duplicate.
Transform feature- overall lacking
just a few of the things that I think aren’t working as well as they could.
Again, I use Photoshop for sketching/drawing as well and never experience any of these slow downs. Even if I have a massive amount of layers and effects going.  Sketchbook seems to choke even without numerous layers.
