I am very new to Sketchbook Pro and got into the situation in the attached screenshot. Somehow my canvas has become a checkerboard pattern. I have gone through every setting I could find but can’t figure out how to get it back to a plain white background. Can you help? I am sure it is something very simple/basic. Thanks for you help!

You have inadvertently turned Transparent Background on I think. Go to Edit>Preferences>General and uncheck it. Or the equivalent on a Mac.
