Hi! I have a question. I’ve been using Sketchbook Pro (the Alias version from 2005 or so) for years and finally upgraded to the 2011 version. While I really appreciate some of the great new features, I have to admit that I’m finding it more difficult to use the 2011 version because of the size of the new palettes. I’m using the app on my Motion Computing Tablet PC and one of the reasons I loved SBP is because of its minimal interface. My Tablet PC has a max resolution of 1024x768 so every bit of space taken up by the palettes really counts!
So my questions…
1. Is there some way I can revert to the 2010 version with my 2011 serial number without having to buy the 2010 version separately? I’ve noticed that SBP 2010 is a bit cleaner and takes up less screen space than SBP 2011.
2. If not, is there some way to remove the 4 Preset + Copic Brush panels and just show my own custom brush panel? I realize that I can collapse the preset panels when using my custom brushes. However the the title headers for the preset panels are still there making the overall size of the palette bigger than I need it to be and taking up space that I would to use for drawing. (103 pixels of vertical space) Also is there some way to resize my custom palette so it’s only one column? I love the interface of the iPad version of SBP and the fact that tools are docked on the left and only take up one column of space.
3. Speaking of SBP for iPad, I also love the fact that custom colors can be docked on the right side in a single column. Can we have that for the PC version as well?
In general, SBP for the iPad is so much more thoughtfully designed for sketching than SBP for the PC. However, the iPad’s lack of a stylus and pressure sensitivity means that I still prefer sketching on my Tablet PC. I just wished SBP for the PC looked more like SBP for iPad (or at least closer to the unobtrusive older versions).
If you can help me out, I’d appreciate it! Thanks!
