I went to the Area site, all happy to get new shaders and textures and whatever else, but I can’t for the life of me figure out how to use them In Sketchbook Pro.  I’m on a iMac 10.6.6 Snow Leopard, using Sketchbook Pro 2011.

I download the files offered, and put them in my Custom Brushes folder, but nothing happens when I got to “Import Brush Set” and really everything else I’ve tried.  Nothing is highlighted when I go to select them in the Custom Brushes folder, so I can’t select anything.  And I can’t open the .rar files at all.  I just don’t get any of this, do these even work on a Mac?  Why are there zero instructions on the website telling people what to do with these things and how to get them to work.  Just seems really poor customer service, to as far as I can see, have absolutely nothing to help people use add-ons.  Are we all just suppossed to know right away how to do this stuff?

Come on Autodesk, I bought your program, can’t you write of page of specific and easy to understand instructions for people new to the program?  I even had to come to the Discussions section to look for help, and still found none.  I can’t remember the last website I visited that didn’t have a Help section, or a F.A.Q. section.  Just poor customer service in my opinion.  I hope you rectify this crappy situation, and as you can tell from this Discussion, I’m not the only one feeling lost.

Probally best to read the PDF manual that came with your software, that will answer your questions on custom brushes.
Part of your question is confusing though, Sketchbook does not use shaders, shaders are for Alias, maya, max.  You can create textures in sketchbook.
What did you download?  You might want to make sure what you downloaded is for a mac and sketchbook.
Wish I could help you more.
