I am having a problem with my straight line and ellipse tools. They are very slow to respond. Sketching is fine however. This is a recent problem as I have been using SBP 2010 for a few months now with no problems on my Cintiq 21 and running Windows X SP 3. These tools work when I set my display at 1280 x 960, but when I set my display at 1600 x 1200 I get the lag. Anyone have any ideas because I prefer my settings at the higher res. Thanks in advance. I recently updated my workstation to OS X Lion (10.7.2) and the install won't let me install it (when I get to the screen to push 'install' the button is greyed out). Is this because the software is not compatible with OS X 10.7.2? And is there a solution? Thanks. 2012-02-01T07:33:57+01:00 Strange problem: Cursor out of sync with draw? http://area.autodesk.com/forum/autodesk-sketchbook-pro/general-discussion/strange-problem-cursor-out-of-sync-with-draw/page-last/ http://area.autodesk.com/forum/autodesk-sketchbook-pro/general-discussion/strange-problem-cursor-out-of-sync-with-draw/page-last/#When:20:54:55Z OK, I have been getting into using this pen tablet. I picked up a budget one and it really does work fantastic. I'm surprised to be honest with you. I also bought Sketchbook Pro 2011. I really love how you can move the UI around to your liking and what not, and I'm surprised by the functionality. That said, when I am working on a project, maybe an hour into it and I notice it stops drawing. But if I draw all the way to the right of the draw area and move my pen to the right, it'll all of the suddenly start drawing from left to right, starting all the way to the left of my draw area. So far, the only way to fix this is to restart the program, which kills my work flow a little bit. And no other programs seem to do it. I can go for hours on end with CS5, but I really do like this interface a lot better. Any advice? I'm sorry if this has been addressed already but I tried searching the forums and I returned no results. 2012-01-31T20:54:55+01:00 Sketchbook not displaying the right color and stroke unless I click on the pen http://area.autodesk.com/forum/autodesk-sketchbook-pro/general-discussion/sketchbook-not-displaying-the-right-color-and-stroke-unless-i-click-on-the-pen/page-last/ http://area.autodesk.com/forum/autodesk-sketchbook-pro/general-discussion/sketchbook-not-displaying-the-right-color-and-stroke-unless-i-click-on-the-pen/page-last/#When:16:40:07Z Now I've searched about this issue of mine and I couldn't find any solutions. My problem is that whenever I select pencil, pen, airbrush or whatever option and pick a color, it can't display the correct option unless I click on the pen. I don't know if this intentional or not but I find it extremely annoying that I have to click everytime I want to draw something. Is there a way to do it right away, without the program drawing like a lighter tone? 2012-01-30T16:40:07+01:00 Run sketchbook pro on win7 LapTop, controlled by Tablet via wifi? http://area.autodesk.com/forum/autodesk-sketchbook-pro/general-discussion/run-sketchbook-pro-on-win7-laptop-controlled-by-tablet-via-wifi/page-last/ http://area.autodesk.com/forum/autodesk-sketchbook-pro/general-discussion/run-sketchbook-pro-on-win7-laptop-controlled-by-tablet-via-wifi/page-last/#When:07:29:41Z Greeetings, I would like to: Run sketchbook pro on win7 LapTop, controlled by Tablet via wifi. I know this thing is a bit of a beast, but I was surprised just how badly SBP fares, given how brilliant it was on the 12WX. Yes I know, hugely different devices... I've had to disable rotate canvas, as otherwise I just cannot move any selections about, they just float long at their own pace and become impossible to drop where I want them to. Zooming in and out has massive lag, and changing the brush size in the puck has to be done with a millisecond swipe, or it will sit there going up or down until it either disappears it's so small or goes to it's maximum size. Would appreciate some feedback as to whether there is anything I can do to improve performance. having rotate canvas off on this bad boy is a severe disadvantage, as you cannot rotate the tablet because a) it doesn't rotate like the 21UX and b) it's too damn big to be shifting into an angle on the desk when I would normally rotate the image. System specs are: Intel Core i7 3.07 GHz RAM: 18GB HDD 1TB + 500MB Video cards: 2x Nvidia GTX 260 (one for each screen) Screens: 24" Dell Ultra Sharp (main) - Cintiq 24HD (secondary) This doesn't really happen in other programmes with rotate canvas. Photoshop is not perfect, but it's usable. I've tried setting the Cintiq to be the main monitor when I'm using SBP, but it has made a minimal amount of difference, it's still barely usable.. I don't want to stop using SBP, but in it's current state on my machine it's not worth the pain. :( 2012-01-28T07:21:22+01:00 Show and tell - Share Your WIP's and Tips http://area.autodesk.com/forum/autodesk-sketchbook-pro/general-discussion/show-and-tell---share-your-wips-and-tips/page-last/ http://area.autodesk.com/forum/autodesk-sketchbook-pro/general-discussion/show-and-tell---share-your-wips-and-tips/page-last/#When:03:19:15Z Chris suggested I begin a thread where everyone could show their works in progress and talk about them. A place for sharing ideas, tips and constructive criticism. I was lucky enough to be among the very talented and gregarious crowd on beta testing for 2010. We had a thread like that there, which was very popular and informative. Let's see if we can make this one like that, but even more so. I'll kick it off by lobbing this one in. There was a friendly challenge over at Imaginefx.com themed 'JADED'. Being me and loving bad puns, I decided to corrupt it to 'Jay Dead' and went for a nasty fairy idea. Didn't finish in time for the deadline unfortunately and haven't had any time to spend on it since. This is as far as it got. I will finish it later when I 'm not so busy though. It started out more or less monochrome, using various texture brushes I've knocked together - as you can in the 2010 version. Fantastic addition to the arsenal, that. I then started adding layers of colour at reduced opacity. It allows for more subtlety and happy accidents. Stops it looking too mechanical. You do tend to send a lot of time tidying up and erasing on layers though, so not the most efficient way to work. The background 'texture' was just filled in using a large brush I made within SKB. 2012-01-21T03:19:15+01:00 Background layer showing through http://area.autodesk.com/forum/autodesk-sketchbook-pro/general-discussion/background-layer-showing-through/page-last/ http://area.autodesk.com/forum/autodesk-sketchbook-pro/general-discussion/background-layer-showing-through/page-last/#When:06:44:16Z Hi, I'm new to SBP. Adonit, the makers of the highly popular Jot stylus, is currently making a pressure sensitive precision stylus with palm rejection called the Jot Touch. They have an SDK and want to partner with app makers like autodesk. Imagine if users could have nearly active digitizer performance on their capacitive screens. Truly a game changer. Please take a look at what they are offering. http://adonit.net/product/jot-touch/ They said it will be released in March. 2012-01-18T03:10:58+01:00
