Sketchbook Pro 2010: Color Editor Option Lost.  Was working fine and all other functions work without issue however when I click on the color icons in the lagoon, the Color Editor window no longer appears.

I do not believe I have changed any settings to cause this. When I click on lagoon icon the whole SKB border highlights, but nothing else. Hopefully this has occured with someone else and this is a quick fix?  I have unloaded and reloaded the software to no avail.

Have downloaded 2011 trial and this works without issue.  Any suggestions?

Delete or rename your preferences folder. Open SBPro to create a new preferences folder. It’s wise to make a backup first.

Is there anywhere I can find a reference as to how to do this?

Nad,

I only know Windows. The Preferences folder can be found here in Windows 7:

C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Autodesk\SketchBook Pro\5.2

Either delete the folder named 5.2 (or whatever version you are using) or alternatively right click on it and rename it (5.2old for example). When you next launch SBPro it will create a new, hopefully uncurrupted, 5.2 Preferences folder.

I appreciate the help Joe, I am just not finding it.  I do have Windows but cannot locate the path you have described.

The 2011 trial worked without incedent.

I loaded the newest service pack for my 2010.. still not opening the custom color palette.  Individual colors are not a problem, just this one feature.

What version of Windows are you using, Nad?

Ok I’ll try and explain how to navigate there. Please bear in mind that this may not be the solution to the color editor problem.

First of all click on the Start menu of your PC. Click Control Panel and then Folder Options. Select the View tab and make sure Show hidden files and folders is selected.

Now, back to the Start menu. Click on Computer and double click the C: drive. Double click Users. Double click the name you have given yourself/computer (below Default probably). Double click AppData. Double click Roaming. Double click the Autodesk folder and then double click the Sketchbook Pro folder. You should now see your Preferences folder which will be named 4.0 or 5.0 depending on the version you have.

Try deleting the folder or right click on it, select rename and rename it by adding “old” to the number, that way you still have it if you want to restore it some time. SBPro builds a new Preferences folder when it opens if there is not one present.

By the way, do you get the color editor if you select Window>Color editor from the menu bar at top of SBPro. Also, the icon for the color editor is not the color wheel in the Lagoon but the little circle below the icon for currently selected brush (inside the quarter circle). Just want to make sure it’s not something simple like that.
