I for one un-installed v5.0 to install new update, but when I open the app it still shows the old version. I am not even sure the if problem with HTML help file was resolved, because when I try to open the help file it never load up properly (for some reason it just tries openning many copies of the browser but none load the help file). No PDF documentation either, nor is there proper instruction on how to install the update. Fairly disappointed with Autodesk with this release of Sketchbook Pro.
That’s very strange because all of the problems you describe do not exist on my end; everything is working properly and I have no problems. Maybe it’s something with your system, have you asked others to see if they are experiencing any of the same issues?
When you uninstall v.5.0 it might be worthwhile checking that your preferences folder is deleted too (or rename it) before installing v5.1. I don’t think this is always done automatically. In Windows 7 it’s here:
I also clean all of the old data out of the registry before installing the new version, but you have to be careful with that or you can really screw you computer up if you don’t know what’s going on.
