Dear friends and all the pros…

Recently I am very much tempted to get an Ipad because of Sketchbook Pro…

I want to sketch very much, especially architecture since my ambition is to one day to be able to do architectural renderings. Although you can do it with the help of other softwares, the ability to hand sketch is still much sought after.

Anyway, whatever it is, let’s go back to the main topic.

However I have no formal training in drawing and wonder where to start. I have tried to look up for forums on renderings (hand drawn) but didn’t come up with a good community.

I know there must be some pros out here for this is a forum dedicated to sketchbook and all users of this software, I guess, know how to draw by hand!

Any advice will be much appreciated. Thank you.

In my opinion professional training and sketching knowledge is essential. Computer software and input devices are just tools. Very powerful tools! A very good way to create perspectives fast and easy is with Sketchup. Create simple boxes with sketchup and import the screenshot of a perspective to sketchbook pro. Here you can finalize the drawing.
The iPad is not precise enough. A Wacom device is much better. I recommend you this book: Drawing Shortcuts: Developing Quick Drawing Skills Using Today’s Technology by Jim Leggitt.
