I also would not buy an iPhone, too pricy month to month. I would buy an iPod touch though. My 1st generation Mini could use replacing.

Yes, they will work, but will not be detected as 3GS, so will run with the same settings as current iPod touches (though I hear much faster).  We are investigating the new devices and will update appropriately in the near future.

Woah! Impressive! Too bad I’m the world’s worst sketcher :(

For those people complaining about AT&T it’s exactly the same situation here in the UK too. The only network the iPhone is available on is O2, which is so bad it beggars belief. I know this first hand as I have one. Sitting here in my office in central London I have hardly any reception and no 3G. Amazing phone on the worst network

Thanks for the feedback, 3vilryan.

The canvas size and layer maximum is purely for optimization.  The older devices do not provide adequate memory to safely and efficiently handle large layer stacks.  The 3GS has a significantly faster processor and more memory.

Tis a fun app, and will be great on a 10inch apple touch pad if they ever come out, but…
begs the question why they (autodesk) can’t release a PC version that has these features for about $20 if they can do this for $3, no?
It’d slap Photoshop market share for sketching :)

Additionally I think they need to do some optimizations for the Touch version 1 as it is no where near as instant as the video shows, on mine the brushes are laggy and it sometimes makes it difficult to work with it, but its still fun and a great resource idea.

Fedup with inadequate Maya Tools.

hi.. currently using skm on ipod touch 8gigs.. first of all kudos to autodesk 4 such a great release.. i hvnt face much problems b4 with skm until recently using it more then n hour straight.. d prblms are as listed below..
1. it crashes every 10 minutes after an hour..
2. the app slows down, pause n then crashes again.. :~
this happens when using skm without any other app running with it..

is it normal to have d ipod battery running low after 2 hours of skm usage?

Im a chemistry student but I like to draw/sketch/paint so I downloaded this App for my iPhone 3G and made a fast Picture.

It took me about 2 minutes to finish that, coz I wanted to make the iPhone on my picture really realistic and with the Apple-Logo so I had to zoom and draw with white pencil on black etc.

I know tis is just a fast hobby sketch, but probably you will like it.

If you like it, tell me and I will post much more fast-sketches, which I’ve made.

The attachment doesn’t work so I post the link.
