After moving from Windows Mobile, where I was using Pocket Artist from conduits.com, to Android, where only SketchBook exists, I very much miss (In order of importance):

1 - save, saveas, autosave (I am losing work every time Android OS closes SBM)
2 - selection tools (magic wand, lasso) - this is a must…
3 - ability to save/load brushes (during the work on a drawing I painstakingly create a brush I am happy with and I have to recreate it again on new drawing)
4 - possibility to see the menu with most commonly used commands on the bottom of the screen all the time - it would save some taps to be able to invoke commands using my left hand while the right hand keeps drawing
5 - possibility to fill with patterns (predefined set + ability to save the portion of the drawing to be used as pattern)
6 - More colors in the color picker, possibility to save/load color sets, possibility to have some 5 user color slots available all the time
7 - folders
8 - PSD, PNG, TIFF exports/save option
9 - ability to save to external card - setting the default place to save to be available in Preferences
10 - possibility to pick user defined canvas

All in all, SBM seems to be the only viable freehand drawing solution on the Android and is quite nice to work with, so, please, improve it just a little…

Also, skew image is a missing must, and a smudge/smear tool is an absolute necessity, especially for the self appointed “best art program for android”. Especially after paying for the app.

I second your request for selection tools. Layer do not solve all issues: sometimes you must move an element from a place to a different one, and it is not the only element in a layer. There is no way to solve this issue without a lasso.

As for the choice of colors, I see the color picker, and it seems quite complete. But probably I don’t fully understand your request.

PSD: I can import and export them from/to Photoshop CS5. Layers are correctly translated (with the obvious limits of just 6/12 on the iPad).

Folders and custom canvas: me too!

I’d rather have rulers first, but selections would be nice. If you haven’t seen rulers, especially the ellipse guide, then check them out on Sketchbook Pro. It’s an amazing tool, especially on a mobile platform where those are a bit more difficult in the first place.

I second your #10 also. I always wonder what size I’m working at. And what if I only want a certain size/aspect ratio?

My wishlist…

Ability to set the canvas size( if i want to work on smaller, or irregular aspect ratios)
Ability to turn off the filtering (to keep jaggies) if I want to keep a “retro” look.
Ability to delete exported images (exported images are taking about 8gb of my storage, and growing)
Ability to save and select from multiple color palettes.
A proper omni-directional smudge tool.
Layer duplication that doesnt degrade the quality of the copy.
Bulk export of entire gallery to location of choice (dropbox, itunes whatever)
Additional layer filters, such as difference, subtraction or color burn.
Selection and/or clone stamp tools.
Fill tool that will allow a deletion-fill.

All i can think of for now.
