Actually I bought my iPad only because of SBP, and it is the only paid app on may ipad.

After 3 months using it, I really love this app! Here’s something I finished recently: http://fav.me/d3aa9c8

Well I have several questions or suggestions:

1. About RGB<->HSB conversion, first I’m not sure if HSB=HSV although wiki says so, well I just assumed so. And I found the conversion is different from others (say GIMP, or online), here’s an example

RGB(241,173,105)= HSB(30,83,68) in SBP

But in GIMP and http://www.yafla.com/yaflaColor/ColorRGBHSL.aspx

RGB(241,173,105)= HSB(30,56,95), and this seems to be correct according to Wikipedia.

So why they are different?

2. If there could be a floating box/sidebar of swatches? I know there’s a quick action ‘last color’, but sometimes more colors are needed at hand

3. SBP still crashes too frequently to me, several times of data losses, now I have to save (even one more backup) often

4. while viewing the galleries, the user interface recognizes gravity direction, but the images won’t. Also happens in the drawing mode. In other words, I cannot draw/view images holding iPad upside-down.

5. Hope there would be a blur tool

hi there:

- HSB: First, hue is hue. No change there. Note that we use the diamond as our saturation/brightness model, so saturation is controlled left-right from 0-100 and brightness up-down from 0-100. This will not necessarily match other SB models.
- Crashes: most of the time, it’s not a crash but SBIP getting killed by the OS when the device starts running out of memory. If you could give us a workflow that consistently make the app “crash” we could investigate to see if there are any memory leaks. We have profiled the app extensively and run tests for hours without any problems. But of course we can’t cover 100% of the cases. Also note that there are other apps running in the background that might introduce some noise. About the data loss, please try the latest update v1.3.2. It should prevent data loss to some degree.
- Gallery: the idea here is that the thumbnail matches the orientation of the sketch if you open it for edit. Sketches do NOT rotate with the device. Only the UI. You can also lock the device rotation.
- Blur: for now you can use the smudge brush.

Thanks for your feedback.

Thanks for your reply!

About HSB: while you mentioned ‘other SB models’ I see only one in Wikipedia (only another definition of saturation for HSL). What I am worried is that if I get a HSB value of a color, I cannot use it in SBP, and vice versa. At least could you please show me any reference about the model used in SBP? So I may do the conversion manually. And are there any other softwares using the same model? (I am new to the color theories, hope this is not a stupid question)

About crash: usually I would close all other softwares in background, so this is not enough? Do I need to restart the device?

I have checked the logs, indeed there are many warnings of low memory.
Could there be an option in SBP, to show a warning dialog when this happens, so the users may save their work manually?

Another thing interesting (actually not interesting), is that after a crash, I always lose a layer, but get a layer back which had been deleted before, so does this mean deleted layers also occupy some memory before a save? I use to create and delete layer frequently…
