hi. tonight, i made the offered update to version 1.3.2 of sketchbook pro for ipad. for the first time, there were no more brushes or pencils in the toolbar. all slots were empty. just white noise… bääh. i deleted the app on the ipad, made a sync with the updated app in itunes. then there was really nothing, no more menubar, just nothing. just this tiny little, grey circle on the bottom of the screen, nothing more. i could crickelcrackel black nonsense… until the whole canvas is black? delete… install… now a three-finger-wipe brings up the menu, go to prefs, “toolbar always visible”. now everything seems to be alright. puh. hard work in the german morning…

I had the exact same problem, all my brushes in the toolbar became invisible. I deleted the app and reinstalled it and now mine too works ok. Thanks for your post from Canada.

When you deleted and reinstalled, did you have to back up your gallery?  If not, did you have any problems recovering your sketches.  I have a large gallery, and many WIPs that I would prefer to not have to send out to the computer and then import back in. Thanks for your help.

why not export your sketches to the photo gallery of your pad and after reinstall import them back to the app?

just opened pro and saw that all the icons are blank white boxes, and my reaction was £&@&&@&&&&&£ !!
Sorry but I know exporting to pdf may be useful to some in this update but on the whole I’ m going to be brutal on this occasion and state that if it were up to me I’d pay the sketchbook team their full salary just to keep them out of the office. sod it I’d send them on an expenses paid world tour just to stop them from releasing a mess like this!

pro is an enourmously useful program to me, I pray they sort this out or rollback the update or learn to tie their shoelaces or something, its terrible when this sort of thing happens to such a useful app.

Once again sorry for the inconvenience. We are just mortals.

Please read this thread for the temporary workaround:

may I apologise for my previous creative though unjustified outburst. sketchbook pro is a wonderful program and the frustration caused by the ocasional annoying problems is merely a reflection of how high the bar and expectations have been set.

Nice retraction. Rarely seen and speaks volumes about your character!
