I know there is a keyboard short cut to fix this, but I have forgotten it.
I have a gmask where the points are very close together, and when I increase the softness offset, I get spikes.
Anyone know the fix, or should I just be fixing it the old fashion way?

Can you just delete those trouble vertices?

hi,
the only hotkey i could think of would be “auto” to set the tangents of a vertex in a smooth direection with the gmask outline - but this would most likely mess up the shape in your example.
so you would probably have to manually adjust individual points (break & move with the handles) & eventually delete some as Brian has mentioned

I can imagine there could be a tool like this… it’d be very similar to the simplify tool for kfs, perhaps that’s what you’re remebering?
But alas no, I doubt if it’ll take you that long to delete superfluous nodes though.

If you created the mask in Lasso mode then the Lasso Fit adjustment will allow you to “simplify” the vertices. However, I believe that this option is only available immediately after you create the Lasso.
