Is there a chance that the non-linear changes in speed, in Smoke 2013 will finally be properly imported from Avid Media Composer?

Hi,

The issue that we have is that there is a mathematical difference with the way Smoke creates a non-linear time warp vs Avid and FCP.

Constant time warps are normally not a problem but ramped speed changes are calculated differently per application and sometimes it will be right and other times it will be slightly out.

I believe this depends on the actual speed of the curve as well as the shape of the curve.  For example, if someone set the curve to 23%, it might be translated differently.  Where as 50% speed should translate fine.

We’ll keep trying to address the issue but we can’t make any promises.

Regards
Grant
