I know in smoke 2012 on OS X you were able to set your keys as Flame. Is this possible in Smoke 2013 beta 5 ?
Also, when in connect FX can you make a hotkey for pan and zoom ? Seems silly that you would have to change that manually every time but I am sure it is user error.
Thanks in advance.

You can use the Flame hotkeys.  Pan and Zoom work fine in Smoke Classic hotkeys.

hi,

you have to create a new user - changing the set for the same user isnt (really) possible (except for copy paste files, which you dont want ...)

Thanks so much your reply.

Last question.  Is there a way to select multiples nodes in connect FX ?  ie, create a selection box around nodes, spline points, etc.  I have tried shift, ctrl ( like in Flame), option, etc etc to no avail.

Hi,

To select a group of nodes, I thought you could hold CONTROL and drag a select box around them.  I know with the Smoke shortcuts it is COMMAND and you can drag a box.

You also should be able to use ALT or SHIFT to select a node and a chain of nodes upstream and down stream to move them around.

Hope this helps

So did I (per the Flame hotkeys) but unfortunately it isn’t making a selection box for me. I am going to try to uninstall the beta and then reinstall and see if that works.

thanks

Still no luck.  I tried on a separate machine just to make sure it wasn’t just me ... no dice.

I set up my user using the Flame hotkeys, go into connect FX while using the select tool and try ctrl, option, shift, etc etc but it still defaults to cutting the node connections.

I went ahead and made a user with smoke hotkeys and the Command key works to make a selection box.

I then made another new user using flame hotkeys and am still unable to make a selection box

ideas ?

Hi,

Looks like the keyboard shortcuts are not mapped correctly.

Open the Shortcut editor and do a search for “rectangle”.
Two of the options highlighted will be “Channel Editor: Rectangle Select”
Select the one mapped to COMMAND-CLICK and change it to CTRL-CLICK
Click SET and Save all.
Exit the shortcut editor

Rectangular selection should work for you now with the flame hotkeys.
