Hi Everyone!

First time smoke user, so bare with me and questions that might be stupid :)

I’ve conformed a aaf timeline and managed to find all the clips so that it looks correct. But now I realize that I should have import the media instead of linking it to the original location. So I was wonder what the best way would be to do that?

best regards

Hi Stephan,

Welcome!

What you should be able to do because you have already conformed your sequence to your original media, is that you can select your sequence clip in the media library, right-click, choose media and choose the “cache source media” option.

This is a background process and it should create a localised version of your media for you to work with.

To monitor this transcoding process, go to the MediaHub tab and switch to the JOBs menu.  The list should display what it is transcoding and what is left to transcode.

Hope this helps!

Regards
Grant

A little late reply

Thanks! I do think the “jobs” tab should have it’s own little tab :) It wasn’t really clear to me at first that this is your actual backburner progress info. So perhaps Autodesk should take a little closer look at on how to make it a bit bigger (preferably moving it somewhere else).
