When I imported my scene from XSI I found the materials for the scene were in the XSI assets folder (under Objects) (as a multi-material?) in the material editor.
As I continued to work I pressed “save” assuming my material changes (changing textures/settings and texture paths) were being saved as well.
(yep, I’m a cryengine noob).
I then closed and opened again later to find everything (materials-wise) had been lost.
My question: how do I save the changes I make in my material library?
Cheers.

Found it.
1. Duplicate the multi-material and save with a new name (this apparently gets it saving the changes automatically).
2. Select the geomEntity that needs the materials and assign the new library (you just saved) to the entity with the button next to “MTL” in the “GeomEntity” section of the property page. (If the level repeatly loads with your imported model without textures it could be that it has nothing assigned (even though it registers changes).
3. Change a few noticable things with the materials, press save and exit. Then load up the sandbox editor and your level should have kept its materials.
