Hi guys

I have a problem in that I’m presented with a "PHEN 0.3 error 051011: shader “CryShader” not found" message after using the Convert Selected from the crytek tool panel.
Everything looks to have installed correctly from following the sticky thread video, and I’ve tried a few times, but just can’t seem to apply the shader without errors.

I created a simple test scene via the following steps:-

1. Primitive | Polygon Mesh | Cube.
2. Select Cube | Materials | Create phong | Drag phong onto cube.
3. CryTek | CryTek Toolbar | Create CryExportNode | Drag cube into export node.

** At this point I uv map the cube and project the uvs via a cubic projection using best fit. **

4. Press 8 | Filter for materials | Select Material | Convert Selection from CryTek Toolbar.

At this point it changes the material name from phong to _01_Material but the phong shader remains and does not change to a CryShader. If I add the preset that is located in my user folder and use it, I’m given the error code above, though the node is present in the render tree. At this stage, it doesn’t seem to matter if its in my default library or one I’ve just created.

I’ve tried un-installing the addon and removing the folder it created from my addons folder, then reinstalling by dropping the xsiaddon onto XSI, but its a no go.

I’ve probably done something very silly, but I just can;t figure it out - so any help on the matter would be greatly appreciated. :)

Using XSI Adv 6.5 Academic.

Cheers!

That is an issue with you trying to preview it via Mental Ray.

It doesn’t affect your export material at all, and just means Mental Ray doesn’t recognize it.

No worries.  To preview it, import the asset into Sandbox2 and view it there.
Or render it using Mental Ray shaders.
