All viewport operations locked when using operation editors

Hi,

Recently I moved from 3Ds Max to Softimage and am running into some annoying issues. Whenever I go into some type of operation editor, the viewport won’t allow me to orbit around the object. This way it’s hard to see what’s actually going on unless you sort of rotate the camera prior to entering any type of operation editor.

Is there a way to enable camera control?
