Sorry very much noobie question - and not sure where to post this for best!

If i’m wanting to create an animation of a flower ‘blooming’(i.e unfolding it’s petals), how is the best way to go about it(not having created the model yet...? Would you use bone chains and envelope it, or would it be better to create multiple ‘petals’ using the basic primitives, and then animating by deformation etc etc? ANd what would the fastes way of doing this be?

All feedback gladly appreciated - and sorry again to ask such a basic question!

Thanks for your time!
